Welcome to NewLink in Lincoln
The NewLink centre in Lincoln provides a wide range of training from courses in literacy and numeracy to computer training for beginners to advanced. The Lincoln centre is one of the first centres to be opened by NewLink.

Our Information Technology education courses run on five days a week and there are currently about 80 students in training, at various levels ranging from Learning with Information Technology classes through to courses which include ; Spreadsheets; Databases; Desktop Publishing and Internet skills. We are a recognised UK Online centre offering all the courses run by them. ECDL and New Clait are 2 of the nationally recognised qualifications on offer in Lincoln. We also run classes aimed at the Visually Impaired.

Students are allowed to work on the courses at their own speed, making it easier for the slower students but also allowing the faster students to go further with their work. This is an essential part of the courses as students have varying disabilities.

We have many associate tutors and volunteers who give their time to help with the classes including ex students who have successfully completed IT courses at NewLink in Lincoln, and enjoy the friendly relaxed atmosphere in the training room. Each class can have several assistants to 10 students giving students the best chance to complete the courses easily.

All of NewLink Lincoln's courses have been funded through a franchise agreement with City College Coventry for 10 years, until July 2006. In the future, funding will come from a variety of sources, including project work. Our centres are now very well-equipped as a result of support from Social Services, lottery and local business.

NewLink Lincoln runs a thriving Desk Top Publishing business. DTP Lincoln is run by ex students of NewLink Lincoln, providing a regular service to several local businesses, including Disability Lincs www.disabilitylincs.org.uk and Lincoln Short Wave Club, supplying labels for products, business cards, and other paperwork. DTP Lincoln also designs, to individual requirements, cards, birthday, Christmas, etc. calendars, wedding stationary and business cards to name but a few.
